Tonight, the Mets Jacob deGrom looks to earn his first regular-season win against the Dodgers. This is something he failed to do in his previous six starts.

Since Jacob deGrom made his debut in 2014, he’s faced the Dodgers six times in the regular-season. Most of those starts were gems, but he was never able to get the win, even though the New York Mets won some of them.

During those six starts, he’s combined for a 0-3 record and a 3.26 ERA. The Dodgers are the only team that deGrom faced multiple times where he’s failed to win a game.

He’s never faced Clayton Kershaw in the regular-season either. He did face him once in the post-season back in 2015.

Let’s take a look at the games where deGrom faced the Dodgers over the years.

More from New York Mets News

He faced the Dodgers twice in 2014, once in May and once in August. In his first start, deGrom gave up three runs over six innings. All three runs came on solo home runs off of Adrian Gonzalez, Yasiel Puig, and Hanley Ramirez.

In his second start, he gave up just one home run to Gonzalez, but the Dodgers managed to score a lot. Again he went six innings but gave up five runs. In 2015 he faced them once and it was a gem. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. He went 7.2 scoreless innings and had a 2-0 lead but the Dodgers tied it in the ninth and deGrom’s got the no-decision.

In 2016, deGrom faced the Dodgers twice. In his first start, he gave up two runs over seven innings and again left with a no-decision.

His second start of 2016 was another gem. One run over seven innings and he left with a 5-1 lead. The Dodgers tied again tied the game in the ninth.

His last regular season start came last August in a game where deGrom only lasted five innings and gave up three runs. The Dodgers shutout the Mets that day and deGrom entered tonight’s game with a 0-3 record against the Dodgers in the regular-season.

The post-season is a different story for deGrom as he was able to find lots of success against the Dodgers. In game one of the 2015 NLDS, deGrom faced Kershaw for the first time and threw seven shutout innings while striking out 13.

At the time, it was his only win against the Dodgers. A few days later, deGrom faced them again in game five. This time he went six innings and gave up two runs for his second win against the team.
