All the talk surrounding the New York Mets when it comes to the trade deadline is who they are going to acquire. What positions are they going to add, and what players are they interested in? However, what is rarely discussed is what the Mets will have to give up to acquire these players. What quality and how many prospects will they need to move to upgrade the roster?

While many prospects' names will be floated as we get closer to the deadline, two lower-ranked prospects have caught the eye of the rest of the league. According to The Athletic Top 30 prospects, Jacob Reimer and A.J. Ewing are hot names on the trade market. But who are these prospects, and why is it the best move for the Mets to move them?

Jacob Reimer and A.J. Ewing can land the Mets' quality players without having to deal from their top-tier prospects

According to MLB Pipeline, Reimer is currently the 17th prospect in the Mets system. He's spent this season with both High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton. Between the two, he's slashed .274/.373/.492 with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs. Reimer's best ability as a prospect is his bat. While the contact has been decent, the power numbers have not yet lived up to expectations. However, given that he is only 21 years old, the expectation is that the power will emerge as he matures.

Ewing is currently the 26th prospect in the Mets, according to MLB Pipeline. Just like Reimer, Ewing earned a promotion, spending time in Single-A St. Luice and High-A Brooklyn. He's currently in the middle of the best offensive season. He's slashed .316/.424/.452 with three home runs and 42 RBIs. While the bat has been impressive this season, it's his speed everyone has been clamoring about. Over his three years in the Mets system, he has swiped 69 bases.

While you don't want to trade young players who are producing, now is the perfect time to move both of these prospects. For starters, both of their values are the highest they've been in their careers. With their strong season plus the interest from other teams, they could land the Mets a decent player. Not one of the top guys on the market, but could land them a good reliever, something they are desperately in need of.

It also saves the Mets from giving up one of their top-tier prospect. Back in May, when trade rumors first started popping up, it appeared the Mets might have to part ways with a couple of guys in their Top Ten to make a big trade. At one point, it would've taken a haul to acquire a player like Luis Robert Jr. However, with a lot of hype surrounding these two, the Mets might be able to package them together, along with some other lower-ranked prospects, and keep your top-tier prospects in the system.

Although it's always a gamble to trade young talent, Reimer and Ewing are the perfect guys to trade. They will bring much more value in a trade than anything they could do in the farm system.
