4. Tyler Rogers to the Yankees
Tyler Rogers was the Mets' only trade deadline acquisition that seemed to work out for them. Ryan Helsley gave us a heart attack every outing, and Cedric Mullins was a black hole in the lineup, but Rogers seemed to give the Mets quality innings of relief every time he took the mound.
Known for his funky submarine pitching style, Rogers may not throw the ball hard or strike many guys out, but he consistently induces ground balls and soft contact at an elite rate while hardly walking anyone. Rogers is a workhorse, as well; his 81 appearances led MLB this season, and since his debut in August 2019, he leads all relievers in games pitched -- 34 more than second-place Scott Barlow. As far as consistency goes, Rogers is arguably the best you can get.
Seeing as many of their relievers are set to become free agents, the Mets should be fighting to get Rogers back in their bullpen this winter, but the Yankees should be willing to swoop in and acquire him as well, as they look to retool their own bullpen. However, if Rogers' contract is as large as expected, it might not be worth it for either team; cheaper options can be found elsewhere.
