As many of you I’m sure, there’s two things I’m obsessed with — the Mets and Game of Thrones

WARNING: There are spoilers below. If you have not seen “The Spoils of War” episode yet, please don’t read on and get mad that we ruined the episode for you.

Well, worlds collided on Sunday night when Noah Syndergaard made his guest appearance on Thrones. We knew for months that this was going to happen this season, making this episode much anticipated for many reasons.

While watching it though, many of us didn’t realize that Syndergaard was even there. If you didn’t know to look carefully at this specific episode, you probably missed it. But, after the episode when we all returned to Twitter and saw the news (and all of Syndergaard’s tweets), and it was awesome.

No, Syndergaard didn’t throw a baseball in the episode. But he did throw a spear at a dragon, so that’s pretty cool. And even more enjoyable that they did somewhat incorporate his throwing into the episode. Watch the little clip for yourself:

Also, is anyone surprised that Syndergaard played a Lannister soldier? Probably not. From hard throwing pitches to hard throwing spears, this role was quite perfect for him. Of course, we would’ve all loved to see Syndergaard on the screen for longer… almost as much as we’d love to see him back on the mound asap.

We all know that Syndergaard has always been a huge fan of the show, even calling it “the greatest TV show of all time” and referring to being on it as an “unbelievable feeling.” Plus, his gloves are even named Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister — two of the most popular characters on the show.

Oh, and yes, Syndergaard was killed by Khaleesi’s dragon.

Next: Collins keeps plugging away despite lost season

It was great seeing Syndergaard back on our television screens. But, it’ll be even better when he’s back on the mound. Syndergaard started a throwing program the end of July, is supposedly feeling great right now, and is still on track to be back on the mound by the end of the season.
