Watch Nationals vs. Mets Spring Breakout game live on Rising Apple
The Mets have four prospects on MLB Pipeline's top 100 list for 2024 — Jett Williams, Drew Gilbert, Luisangel Acuña, and Ryan Clifford — two of whom earned invitations to spring training this year and one of whom might be due for a major league debut this year.
All four and more will get a chance to stand out even more in MLB's Spring Breakout series in its inaugural year. 27 Mets prospects, including Williams, Gilbert, Acuña, and Clifford, will face off against the 27 Nationals prospects at Clover Park on March 15 at 3:10 PM EST.
You can tune into the game right here on this page on Friday, thanks to a collaboration with MLB and STN.
MLB Spring Breakout: How to Watch Nationals vs. Mets
Williams and Gilbert have both been in Mets spring camp to varying effect; Williams is hitting the ball frequently but not necessarily for power, while Gilbert is struggling more across the board. Both ended the 2023 season in Double-A, so neither has to be due in the majors this year, but hopefully they'll find some more pop in Spring Breakout.
The Nationals will be sending out their No. 1 prospect Dylan Crews (also No. 7 overall), who has been performing well in spring training, with two doubles, a home run, two RBI, and two stolen bases in nine games. Prospects Nos. 2 and 3 (Nos. 7 and 48 overall), James Wood and Brady House, will also look to give their future division rivals a run for their money.
