3) Lesser known pitching prospect Christian Scott has impressed all season and should get a start for the Mets

He might not be the first name Mets fans think of when it comes to calling up a prospect, but Christian Scott is showing potential of being a solid contributor for the Mets in the very near future.

Ranked 28th in the Mets farm system on MLB.com, Scott has shined as a full time starting pitcher this season. He holds a 3.05 ERA across his 13 starts this season, moving quickly from Single A to Double A in just a few months. His most impressive quality thus far has been his strikeout ability, recording 70 strikeouts to just 11 walks thus far. With eight K's in his most recent start without a walk, that is an ability that the Mets hope he will continue to hone in on in the minors.

Of course, there is always a risk with bringing up a prospect too fast, which might be the case with Scott. This is just his third season in the system, and the Mets might not want to rush him up to the majors just yet. Still, he has shown some great potential and could benefit from the experience.

A former fifth round pick, Scott has been a fast riser through the farm system and has shown a lot of upside. If the season continues to get away from the Mets, he has an outside chance of making the Mets roster much earlier than anyone could've expected.
