A vast majority of New York Mets fans took a large issue on Sunday afternoon with Fox's National Broadcast of the Mets and Philadelphia Phillies game. While it didn't have much to do with the production side of things, such as many fans previously not thrilled with ESPN's in-game interviews during crucial stretches of the game, it had more to do with who was calling the game.

Now as Mets fans, we are already spoiled with the legendary booth of Gary Cohen, Ron Darling, and Keith Hernandez on a nightly basis, which is highly regarded as the best commentary booth in the game. A big reason for this is how fair and objective the SNY booth has shown itself to be over countless years, but on Sunday afternoon Mets fans experienced a widely different experience in what was supposed to be a neutral booth.

Mets fans believe Game 2 was a one-sided called game on Sunday by FOX's national broadcast crew.

The Fox broadcast crew included Adam Amin, in addition to former Major League Baseball players Adam Wainwright, and AJ Pierzynski, and let's just say fans all over social media were not thrilled with the way the ballgame was called. From many fans' perspectives, including mine, it seemed most of the commentary was geared toward how the Phillies could continue to crawl back into the game for the vast majority of the game that the Mets were leading.

Listening endlessly to the booth talk about a million different ways the Phillies could jump back into the game while Luis Severino was dealing became almost nauseating to the die-hard and casual Mets fan. It also became widely apparent that the announcers seemed to be much more enthusiastic when the Phillies would score in comparison to the Mets. A solid case in point was during Pete Alonso's opposite-field home run in the sixth inning that many fans took exception to, in what seemed to be a lack of enthusiasm from the booth.

While it's hard to sit and accuse professional announcers of having an agenda against the Mets, there did seem to be an obvious bias most of the game that made it feel like we were indeed watching a Phillies home broadcast. With the Mets returning home to Citi Field on Tuesday, let's hope that tune will change with the backing of the home crowd and possibly with Fox taking a quick glance at social media on Sunday.
