3. Mets fans are done with Robinson Cano because he's not a good baseball player anymore.

Robinson Cano is set to make $24 million dollars this season and next season before his contract expires following the 2023 campaign. He is obviously overpaid, but he's not even good enough to be on this Mets roster.

Cano has been saved by the addition of the DH to the National League. He now has a spot he can play without costing the team too much. However, it's gotten to the point where he just can't play anymore.

The Mets are a very talented ball club and are proving that right out of the gate this season. They're scoring runs and pitching very well. The one massive hole in their lineup is when Cano is in it.

The Mets choosing to start Cano most of the time over guys like Dom Smith and J.D. Davis is insane. I get trying him out to begin the season, but it's very clear he's pretty much done producing at this level. Smith and Davis are way too talented to be on the bench as much as they have been.

Furthermore, when Cano plays he hits sixth most of the time. Above guys like Mark Canha and Jeff McNeil. This is also flat out unacceptable. The Mets have been getting guys on in front of him and because he hits sixth, those guys often remain on base. Cano has one hit in 11 at bats with runners in scoring position and one hit in 16 at bats with runners on base.

Overall, Cano has one home run and three RBI this season. He's slashed .184/.225/.263 with a 47 OPS+. In a year where offense is down, a 47 OPS+ guy playing pretty consistently on a first place team is insane.

Cano has posted a -0.5 WAR while accumulating 38 at bats and six games in the field. In order for his WAR to be that bad he'd have to be performing as badly as he has been.

There is not one thing Cano is good at anymore and that's the biggest reason why I and other Mets fans are done with Robinson Cano. The Mets should be too.
