Mets aces in on Cy Young chase

We just got done talking about Tom Seaver, a legendary pitcher with 3 Cy Youngs to show for it. In 2022 we get to watch a Cy Young chase not only from one but two Mets pitchers. Both Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer have the opportunity to dazzle us through the dog days of summer. If both stay healthy, we could be witnessing an epic chase for the pitcher's most valuable prize.

Jacob deGrom, who won back-to-back Cy Youngs in 2018-19 will be looking for his third. He was well on his way last season when injuries caught up to him and ended his season at the All-Star break. It’s unfortunate too because deGrom was putting up numbers we haven't seen since the ‘Year of the Pitcher” in 1968.

Max Scherzer already has three Cy Youngs and will be on his quest for a fourth. If he accomplishes this task then it will be his first in a Mets uniform. Mad Max has done nothing but dominate the NL East for the last 7 years so it is with a big sigh of relief that he is on our side this season.

Watching two of the best pitchers in all of baseball has been exciting but getting to watch them on the same team… now that's just amazing!
