3. Starling Marte

Just like Baty, this was a crucial year for Starling Marte. After an All-Star year in his first season with the Mets in 2022, 2023 was a totally off year for the Mets right fielder as he played in just played in 86 games in his injury-riddled season and batted just .248. So far in 2024, Marte has shown signs of his old self which has gotten the Mets and Met fans very excited to see.

After driving in the Mets first run of the season on a solo home run on Opening Day against the Milwaukee Brewers, Marte has continued to hit at a consistent level. Marte has a batting average at nearly .280 in 15 games played so far and has gone yard twice and has used his speed to his advantage as has stolen three bases so far which has been a really great sign to see.

The Mets need this version of Marte this season. He is not only great with the bat, but he can steal bases and plays great defense as well. Despite just 15 games into the regular season, Starling Marte has still been a very welcoming surprise and if healthy, can be an important player in the Mets if they want to make it back in the postseason.
