The first month of the season is over and the New York Mets are in first place. This seems to happen every year but this team does actually feel different. They're pitching well even without their best pitcher and they're actually scoring runs at a decent rate.

The Mets schedule was not super difficult but the Mets did what they should have done, beat bad teams.

22 games down, 140 to go. Let's make some weird overreactions to the first month of New York Mets baseball.

NY Mets overreaction: This team will never lose another series again

The Mets have played six series thus far and have won all six they have played. Interestingly enough they haven't swept one yet, but they've won all regardless. Those six straight series win to begin a season set a franchise record. Pretty good.

The Mets have won six straight series and seem poised to win a seventh as they have Max Scherzer on the bump at home against the Phillies tonight. A great start that surely won't last forever.

The Mets have had some fairly easy series' to begin the season like two series' against the Diamondbacks and a four game series in Washington as their first one of the year.

The Mets do have some impressive series wins like taking three of four against the Giants and taking two of three in St. Louis including a very impressive comeback with two outs in the ninth inning of the first game.

While it'd be nice to win every series, no team has ever done that and the Mets won't be the first one to accomplish that feat. It's very likely no team will ever do that.
