The Mets look to cement a winning series to start the 2023 MLB season with its promising young star making his MLB debut.

Kodai Senga was one of the Mets big offseason acquisitions and will look to get off to a strong start against the Miami Marlins on Sunday afternoon. The Mets have taken two of the first three games from the FIsh, can they make it three out of four before they continue on with its opening season road trip?

Here are the odds for Sunday's matchup:

Mets vs. Marlins prediction and pick

Senga played in the NPB in Japan for 11 seasons and was one of the best pitchers in the league, posting a 2.59 ERA with a fantastic 87-44 record. He now begins his MLB journey against a Marlins team that checked in 28th in on-base percentage last season.

I like Senga's chances to string together a strong debut start against the Fish, who have not scored more than three runs through three games, but lefty Trevor Rogers should be able to put together a quality start as well.

The Mets have consistently underperformed against left handed pitching, 13th in OBP last season against southpaws and only got two hits against fellow Marlins lefty Jesus Luzardo in 5 2/3 innings on Friday.

I expect a pitcher's duel on Sunday afternoon, and I'll go with the under.
