Mets vs. Braves prediction and odds for Wednesday, Aug. 23 (Trust New York as big underdogs)
The Mets have a favorable matchup against Braves' starter Charlie Morton.
The New York Mets are in line to miss the postseason, but the team will look to build some momentum late in the season at the expense of the first place Atlanta Braves.
Francisco Lindor is swinging a sweet bat in August, and gets a favorable matchup against the Braves veteran right hander Charlie Morton. Could Lindor and the Mets be a valuable underdog bet on Wednesday?

Mets vs. Braves prediction and pick
While the Mets season has gone off the rails, Lindor has been playing his best ball for the better part of a month. Since the All-Star break, Lindor's batting average is up from .239 to .293.
The Mets offense has been a minus all season, but Lindor is seeing the ball well and is in a good spot to keep it going against Morton.
The 39-year-old has an ERA of 3.54, but his xERA is far higher at 4.79. He is walking more than four batters per nine innings and has allowed a ton of hard contact, posting a home run to fly ball rate of nearly 11%. However, Morton has stranded nearly 79% of runners on base, keeping his ERA low.
I'm not buying it, though, I'm going to back the Mets at a big underdog price to tag Morton and pick up a momentum building victory.
