There's no hiding it. This season for the Mets has been one of the most disastrous seasons in recent Major League Baseball history.
But, let's put that behind his for the moment. We have an opportunity to bet on their Sunday Night Baseball game against the Atlanta Braves, and I have a wager that I love for it.
Let's dive into it.
Braves vs. Mets odds, run line, and total
Braves vs. Mets prediction and pick
I'm not going to advocate for a bet on the Mets, I just can't bring myself to do that. Instead, we're going to take the OVER and root for offense.
Yonny Chirinos has been bad for the Braves since getting acquired from the Rays. He has allowed at least three earned runs in each of his three starts, and they weren't exactly against top tier offenses. Most recently, he allowed six earned runs against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
If there's any pitcher the Mets can get their offense going against, it's Chirinos.
Sorry Mets fans, I do have to talk about how good the Braves offense is. After all, this is a bet on the full game over, so it doesn't matter who scores the runs, we just need them to be scored. The Braves have the best OPS in the Majors over the past 30 days at .899.
The Mets bullpen has been terrible lately too. They have a bullpen ERA of 5.94 over the last 30 days. We might see some late-game runs to get us over the total.
