The New York Mets will need to wait a little longer to try to break their losing streak. Game two against the Philadelphia Phillies will begin with a weather delay due to rain.

No details as to when the game will start have been shared yet. Originally, slated for 4:10pm, uncooperated weather has pushed things back. The battle between Christian Scott fresh from the IL and the Phillies bullpen seems like an appropriate time for the Mets to win their first game since beating the Phillies in Philadelphia last Thursday. Scott last pitched on June 11, leaving in the fifth in a Mets win over the St. Louis Cardinals. However, it was the third straight game he started where the Mets won.
Scott’s return is a promising twist to a fascinating Mets week. Andy Green, the club’s newly minted manager, sounded excited to have him back.
"Christian Scott was probably the first pitcher I legitimately fell in love with when I came into the organization. I was like, 'that's what it looks like.'"

The weather report in Flushing could have this rain delay extending for a few hours. There is a 49% or greater chance of rain in the forecast through the 6 o’clock hour. Fortunately, the game hasn’t started yet which should give Scott a greater chance of eating up some innings.
Check back for more updates on when we might see first pitch.
UPDATE: 4:42PM
First pitch is now scheduled for 5:20pm. The delay won't last as long as it once seemed.
