The 7:15pm start time between the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves, on the two-year anniversary of Grimace throwing out the first pitch, will begin in a rain delay. At 7:00pm, the Mets tweeted out a message to fans in attendance to take cover.
Severe weather is in the area. If in attendance, please take cover in the concourse area.

Already anticipated with a 6:15pm announcement that there would be a delay, fist fight number one between these NL East rivals will likely begin sometime around 8pm or so.

Nolan McLean versus Spencer Strider kicks off game number one of three at Citi Field between the Mets and Braves. The Mets, hoping to inch forward in the NL Wild Card standings, have more than pride to battle for. Tie-breakers go beyond head-to-head record. Every game counts, especially in your own division. Intradivisional records come second after head-to-head.
The weather forecast is promising for the rest of the night. Wind and humidity, however, can pose a threat to anyone who steps on the hill. Slightly thrown out of rhythm as well, does a battle between budding aces turn into a slugfest instead?

We have a rainbow sighting at Citi Field. Grimace? Is that you?

While the rain has stopped, a wet warning track might require some extra muscle to clear out.
The rain is slowing at Citi FIeld, but the warning track is a river. So this might be a long clean up process before we see Strider/McLean.
