2) Jacob Reimer

Jacob Reimer had a fantastic bounce back season in 2025 after missing most of 2024 due to injury. The 21-year-old former fourth round pick sometimes gets overlooked in the system. Last season was a breakout campaign where he put up the kind of numbers they’d love to see from Ryan Clifford, a prospect who won’t be discussed on this list.

61 games apiece in High-A and Double-A, he combined to hit .282/.379/.491 with 17 home runs. The numbers were better in some regards at Double-A and close enough in the areas where it wasn’t to show Reimer was fully ready for Double-A and a candidate for an early promotion to Triple-A next year. A third baseman who might end up at first base when it’s all said and done, he should keep his prospect eligibility by this time next season.

Significant power, the ability to get on-base at a great rate, and the high average in relation to Clifford makes Reimer the winner in any comparison between the two. Reimer is the sixth ranked Mets prospect right now with everyone ahead of him factoring into the team’s 2026 plans in some regard. Bookmark the 2027 season as the time when he makes his MLB debut. Will it be as the number one Mets prospect or less so?
