MLB Trade Rumors is the best source for all things hot stove related. What they’re able to put together is unmatched. Along with the trade deadline, the offseason is their time to shine. So, naturally, the best place to keep up with what the New York Mets are doing is bookmarking their site.

They’ve revealed their list of free agent predictions for the top 50. Who do they have going to the Mets?

Four different writers were involved in making the predictions. Steve Adams, Anthony Franco, Darragh McDonald, and Tim Dierkes all took their best shot. What does each of these predict for the Amazins?

Steve Adams predicts the Mets keep two players and add a big one

Steve Adams predicts the Mets will retain Pete Alonso and Sean Manaea and will be the winners in the Juan Soto sweepstakes. Not too bad. It’s a realistic outcome. Alonso and Manaea have already received qualifying offers. Targeting Soto is guaranteed to happen.

Anthony Franco predicts the Mets lose all of their guys and go in a much different direction

Anthony Franco doesn’t predict the Mets land Juan Soto. He doesn’t even envision them keeping Alonso or Manaea. His prediction has them adding Corbin Burnes as their top free agent with Yusei Kikuchi along for the ride as well. The biggest bat they’ll add in the offseason is Joc Pederson.

Darragh McDonald predicts the Mets bring back one of their top free agents

Darragh McDonald has Luis Severino coming back to the Mets with everyone else ranked in the top 50 finding new homes. It’s not so bad. He is the only one at MLB Trade Rumors to predict the Mets sign Soto and Burnes! He even added a fourth free agent. Matthew Boyd comes to the Mets. Hey, no complaints with what they did around him.

Tim Dierkes predicts the Mets bring back one free agent and a bunch of new ones

The founder of MLB Trade Rumors, Tim Dierkes went in a different direction from his colleagues. He predicts the Mets will bring back Sean Manaea and with him they also have Blake Snell. His crystal ball includes a contract for Joc Pederson and a bullpen addition that swipes A.J. Minter away from the Atlanta Braves.

Which member of the MLB Trade Rumors staff put together the best Mets offseason? It’s hard to not like seeing Soto and Burnes signed. However, Burnes and Manaea plus Pederson and Minter make them better rounded.

These are predictions and wish lists. The Mets were mentioned throughout the lengthy story those four helped produce as potential destinations for far more players (even Justin Verlander). No one was bold enough to actually predict he’d come back.
