There isn’t really much of a rush to trade him. Another home run on Saturday makes him look good, but does it really do much for his trade value? The Mets aren’t going to get a steal for him. A prospect that merely looks good on paper, maybe having a better season than where he ranks within an organization, is the most realistic return we can be satisfied with.
Luis Robert Jr. hasn’t been traded yet because…
Nobody wants him. If the Mets aren’t going to pay all or most of the remaining portion of his contract, why would anyone give up even a random prospect for him? He has been ineffective outside of a couple of bombs since his IL return. The Mets are going to be faced with a difficult time trading him.
Brooks Raley hasn’t been traded yet because…
All of those A.J. Minter suitors need to up their game. Brooks Raley can be an incredibly valuable piece moved at the trade deadline if he lands with a serious contender. Already on August 2 with no deal in place, Raley feels like one of the first or last to go of the remaining Mets players on the block.
