They may have no choice but to retire.

3) Marcus Stroman

Has there been a peep about Marcus Stroman since the New York Yankees released him? As outspoken if not more than Pham, the thing he has going against him is a lack of results.

Stroman pitched for the Yankees in 2025 and made 9 starts. A 6.23 ERA ultimately led to a release on August 1. He didn’t latch onto another organization. If you found any rumor about a team showing interest this offseason, quit your job now and become an archeologist.

The lack of interest in Stroman is easy. He doesn’t have the personality of someone who'd ever take a minor league contract. In fact, he probably still believes he deserves big money and would take it as an insult to get less.

At 34-years-old, it’s way too early for a player like Stroman to be done with baseball. He can still pitch if someone gives him a chance. No. Scratch that. He could still pitch if he was willing to give himself an opportunity. Stroman should be willing to move the bullpen to extend his career, rewrite his reputation, and actually play in the postseason for the first time since 2016.

Something tells me Stroman won’t officially retire quite yet and will choose to announce it during the Hall of Fame ceremony, World Series, or some other major event. If full disclosure is coming about extraterrestrials, expect Stroman to seize the opportunity to go on social media and make his own special announcement about him hanging up his cleats shortly after.
