2) Brooks Raley - RP
The left-handed reliever was traded to the Mets before the 2023 season and became a solid presence in the Mets' bullpen. In 66 appearances in 2023, Raley pitched to a 2.80 ERA, continuing a solid stretch he had brought over from the Rays, where he pitched to a 2.68 ERA in 60 appearances in 2022. He had bounced around for the first half of his career, struggling to make an impact on the mound in his first few years with the Cubs, Reds, and Astros, but he had seemed to reinvent himself in Tampa, and the Mets were willing to take a spin with him.
Raley was off to another great start with the Mets to begin the 2024 season, recording a win in eight scoreless appearances, but opted to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery after straining his UCL in his left elbow. The surgery has taken Raley out until the middle of this season, and as a result, a team has yet to sign him. I'm willing to bet there will be some suitors for Raley once he fully recovers, such as teams looking for an extra bullpen arm, but at 36 years old fresh from Tommy John surgery, it's hard to say how effective he will still be at this point in his career.
