2) Luisangel Acuña

Jeff McNeil's injury allowed young infielder Luisangel Acuña to show his worth in big league at-bats. It was a slow start, but Acuña has thrived at the plate recently. In his last 13 games, he's slashing .361/.425/.472 with 13 hits, including four doubles. He's brought his OPS up from .387 on April 7th to the .733 it stands at now. He has four hits in his last five games, including a two-hit performance against the Cardinals on Sunday.

He still has just one RBI on the season, but the way he's been hitting lately is an encouraging sign for the 23-year-old. He may not be demonstrating much power, but he has been a more-than-solid on-base guy, and once he's on the bases, he thrives. He has stolen six bases thus far, and his 98th percentile sprint speed allows him to leg out extra-base hits when possible and be driven in, as he has accounted for eleven runs this season.

McNeil is set to be reinstated from the IL on Friday, so it'll be interesting to see how the Mets utilize Acuña moving forward, but he should continue to see consistent playing time if he's proving to be ready to combat major league pitching.
