The next version of the top 30 Mets prospects should include some noticable changes with these three.

Preseason prospect lists are already out at several places with MLB Pipeline waiting a little longer to publish their updated list. The New York Mets farm system is already on full display on their top 100 list, featuring three players plus. This doesn’t include Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat.

Led by Nolan McLean who’ll graduate quickly, his placement isn’t going to change and we already have an idea of where some others will be based on where they fell on the Top 100 list. It’s McLean, Carson Benge, and Jonah Tong in that order.

Who’ll be next? Things might not change much with Jacob Reimer, A.J. Ewing, and Ryan Clifford coming up next. As for the rest of the bunch, there are two who should jump up a few spots and another who should definitely falll. For the sake of not nitpicking, only players who’ll move up at least two spots will be included. Elian Pena should be seventh instead of Mitch Voit, but that’s only a single spot so he has been left out for now.

Two Mets prospects who should move up the next ranking and another who should fall

Jack Wenninger should rank higher - Currently 11th

It’s probably because he was a 6th round pick that has Jack Wenninger ranked 11th. An unstoppable full season in Double-A with a 2.92 ERA and more than a strikeout per inning and less than 3 walks per 9 should have him already in the conversation to join the big league roster at some point in 2026. Syracuse has been a battleground for several other top pitching prospects. For now, Wenninger feels like he should be 7th or 8th instead of 11th.

Jonathan Pintaro should rank lower - Currently 15th

At 28 with a 4.74 ERA in Triple-A, it’s hard to believe Jonathan Pintaro will be much more than a journeyman in the majors. Ranking him highly seems unnecessary after a poor year in Triple-A and forgettable single game in the majors. We wish him well. The excitement just isn’t there like there should be for younger players who seem destined for better things. He should not be ranked 15th, especially not ahead of the next player on this list.

Ryan Lambert should rank higher - Currently 20th

This one will change. Even though Ryan Lambert is a reliever, he’s a fantastic pitching prospect who’ll be in the majors soon enough. His 1.71 ERA in Double-A last year with an outstanding 13.7 K/9 rate makes him an early consideration to join the 40-man roster as one of the revolving players in the bullpen. This probably won’t be the year when he establishes himself as a full-timer in the majors. He’ll be a fun player to watch develop. First, he should be ranked higher.
