When the New York Mets win, Michael Conforto’s numbers have been well above his career average. The team is counting on him to come through.

The New York Mets won 6-2 over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday with the help of Michael Conforto.

In this game, he went 1 for 3 with a walk and scored two runs. It has become a common trend that Conforto excels and plays better when the Mets are victorious. Yes, it is common for most players to do better when their team wins, but statistically, Conforto is the truest to the trend.

When the Mets win, Conforto plays at a whole different caliber. His OPS is over 1.000 when they win, an elite level.

Conforto has played in 222 wins and 245 losses for New York. In their 222 wins, he has hit 59 of his 84 career home runs. He is a career .274 hitter, but when the Mets win; his batting average is .324, which is absolutely impressive.

However, he is a career .274 hitter. Entering the most recent series versus the Nationals, his batting average in losses is only .186. According to Elias Sports, this is the largest gap for a player with minimum career 1500 plate appearances pending the team’s outcome. He has struck out a lot more in losses than wins, which makes sense.

It is incredible to see how much better Conforto plays when the Mets win. It just proves his value and how important his presence is in the Mets’ lineup. He has been a real game-changer for the Amazins since 2015. His performance has dictated so many of the team’s games for almost five seasons.

The Mets are currently battling to stay at .500 before putting the mark behind them for good. This week, they are hoping to take advantage of the Nationals and Miami Marlins. This road streak means a lot for the ballclub. They can really turn their season around if they can stack up on wins against Washington and Miami.
