The start of a new season brings the eternal hope of potential success with it. One part of this potential are all the possibilities of a new season including the potential awards any player could earn. These New York Mets will look to earn their hardware.

The standard awards will be the Cy Young, MVP, Rookie of the Year, and Reliever of the Year. Every team will have a player with the potential to achieve these awards and the New York Mets are indeed no exception.

They have enough talent and enough depth that they can produce multiple candidates for each slot. Another possibility that befalls players on talented teams can arise and that is the possibility that the success of one player may detract from another. Therefore these choices have been carefully analyzed and the favorites not just simply chosen.

Jacob deGrom is the reigning NL Cy Young winner, but he would need another stunning season to win because repeat winners are rare and many times must be more than deserving. However, the Mets are in no way short on candidates as they have one of the more talented rosters at their disposal.

These three Mets could add some hardware to their collection at season’s end. While there are other candidates for smaller awards, this trio stands out as the most likely to win.
