Neil Walker a.k.a. “Dad” went out to grab a pack of cigarettes in Milwaukee and doesn’t seem to be coming back.
It’s not surprising that the Brewers picked him up at the trade deadline. Walker was having another great season for the Mets. He was a fan favorite in the short time that he was in Queens, and had plenty of impact while on the field. There have been some murmurs floating around about the possibility of bringing him back. Nothing concrete of course. Which is just as it should be. Jay Bruce was a key piece to bring back to Queens. His offensive numbers were a lot better than Walkers. It would be nice if the Mets could upgrade just a bit on the defensive side for second base as well. But for now, let’s take a look at his last season in orange and blue.
