The Grandyman can!
I feel like I’ve written so many pieces this year about how much I enjoy Curtis Granderson. He’s hands down, one of my favorite baseball players of the past decade. And at this point I think I can safely say, that barring a trade to the Nats, I would definitely root for Grandy no matter where he played. His days of being the best on the field were starting to decline once the Mets had acquired him four years ago. Yet still, he managed to win over fans in that very first press conference. Trading in his uniform of the evil empire, for orange and blue, while stating “True New Yorkers are Mets fans.” It’s a great way to start the next four years on the other side of the same city.
Even while he was never at his best while on the Mets, no one could deny that positive energy and hustle that he always brought to the field. Grandy once again just missed getting that World Series ring, and he’ll be a free agent once again entering his 15th year of his major league career. But let’s take a look back at how 2017 turned out for him.
