Addison Reed has filled in at closer since Jeurys Familia went on the shelf with a blood clot. After a slow start to the season, Reed has been better of late. His overall numbers aren’t flashy though (3.03 ERA, 8 saves in 10 chances, and 30 hits in 29.2 innings). Opponents are also hitting nearly 50 points higher off Reed this season in contrast to 2016.

Reed did post a 2.45 ERA for the month of May and he followed it up by nailing down a two-inning save, the longest of his career, in his last outing against Pittsburgh on June 3rd. This statement is more about trying something completely different with Harvey than Reed’s overall performance.
