The Mets starting pitching has held up fairly well since the season started earlier this month, but we can’t forget that the team lost two big arms before Opening Day.

Both Seth Lugo and Steven Matz have had elbow issues, and while neither were considered to be too serious, they have still worried fans about any potential longer term effects. Thankfully, it seems that both Matz and Lugo are still on track to come back in a normal timeframe.

While there’s no specific time table set for either, it’s definitely encouraging that neither pitcher is experiencing any type of discomfort from throwing on flat ground. This is specially encouraging for Matz who has had a bit of weird few weeks when it comes to his injury.

Matz said he was diagnosed with a strained flexor tendon, but then it turned out the Mets actually had no idea who gave the lefty that diagnosis. Either way, it seems like Matz is actually feeling better, so regardless of what it was or who it was that told him what was wrong, let’s just hope this is the only issue he has to endure this season.
