Alejandro De Aza‘s signing in late 2015 serves as proof that while Sandy Alderson makes a lot of great moves, no General Manager is perfect.

Coming off a year in which he played for three different clubs, De Aza signed with the Mets in December of 2015, and at the time, it looked like he would be the replacement for Yoenis Cespedes in center field. Thankfully, Cespedes would end up re-signing with the Amazin’s in January, and prevent that from happening, but the damage was still done.

De Aza would stick around throughout the entire 2016 season, and frustrate Mets fans more than most players have in the last few years.

Let’s take a look at his 2016 more in depth.
