Number 2: Jose Reyes ties game 153 against the Phillies on September 22nd.

Asdrubal Cabrera‘s heroics later in the game would not have been possible without this memorable moment from Jose Reyes.

The critical game had been a see-saw affair, with the Phillies taking a 6-4 lead in the eighth.

The Mets were down to their last two outs in the bottom of the ninth, after a hit by Nimmo and a Jay Bruce strikeout. Reyes, who had re-joined the Mets in July (and was received with mixed reviews after his domestic violence arrest), reminded Mets fans why he had been so popular during his first tenure with the team. He has a flare for the dramatic, and contagious enthusiasm that can ignite the fan base.

His home run tied the game in the ninth, and despite the Phillies’ uprising in the eleventh, gave us the feeling that Mets would find a way to win.
