Gavin Cecchini, SS, Double-A Binghamton:

Cecchini, 21, came in at No. 69 on the list, with Sickels noting that his bat is breaking out in Double-A.

Drafted 12th overall by the Mets in the 2012 draft, Cecchini is hitting .295/.358/.426 with six home runs and 35 RBI for Binghamton, which has been by far his best showing at any level of the minors thus far.

When he was drafted, Cecchini, who is expected to be an above average defender at shortstop, was viewed as a low-ceiling pick. While he may turn out to be an average bat and an average to above average defender, that combination is extremely hard to come by at shortstop — and brings immense value.
