Jenrry Mejia (elbow, suspension):

Mejia was originally placed on the disabled list in early April, and then received an 80-game suspension for steroid use.

With Mejia eligible to return from his suspension on July 7, he began a rehab assignment on Tuesday by pitching an inning for the GCL Mets.

Mejia should slide into a late-inning role when he returns, which would help a bullpen that’s currently without Vic Black, Jerry Blevins, Buddy Carlyle, and Rafael Montero. However, due to the fact that Mejia was suspended, he will not be eligible for the postseason should the Mets qualify.
