Coming off his first career win, Noah Syndergaard will face the Pirates for the first time. He threw six innings in his last start, allowing one run to score on three hits, while striking out five Brewers and walking one.

Gerrit Cole fell victim to inadequate run support in his last start, going six strong innings against the Chicago Cubs, while allowing two runs to score on seven hits. He struck out eight batters and only walked one.

In his career against the Mets, Cole is 0-2 with a 8.00 ERA in two starts.
