Baseball Prospectus released its top 10 Mets prospects list on Monday, which is as follows:

1. RHP Noah Syndergaard
2. LHP Steven Matz
3. OF Brandon Nimmo
4. SS Amed Rosario
5. C Kevin Plawecki
6. 2B Dilson Herrera
7. RHP Marcos Molina
8. 1B Dominic Smith
9. OF Michael Conforto
10. 3B Jhoan Urena

In addition to the top 10, BP labeled RHP Casey Meisner, OF Champ Stuart, and RHP Gabriel Ynoa as “prospects on the rise.”

Baseball Prospectus is subscription-only, so we’ll respect that while not providing many details regarding their rankings. However, we will point out that – like many others – they’re high on Dilson Herrera, Amed Rosario, and Dominic Smith.

Thoughts:

Of the players on the list, it’s very likely that Noah Syndergaard, Steven Matz, Brandon Nimmo, and Kevin Plawecki all make their debut with the Mets at some point in 2015.

This list seems about right, but one player I would have much higher is Michael Conforto – with Kevin Plawecki and perhaps Marcos Molina lower.

In addition to being rated as the best college bat in this past summer’s draft, Conforto had a strong debut, has plus power potential, and will likely be a fast riser who will be able to stick in left field.

Overall, the Mets have one of the strongest farm systems in the game – even though a number of their better prospects recently graduated.
