Game Recap:

The Nationals got on the board in the top of the second when a Jordan Zimmermann infield single made it 1-0.

Washington then added two runs in the top of the eighth on a Jose Lobaton sacrifice fly, and a single off the bat of Bryce Harper. That upped their lead to 3-0.

In the top of the ninth, the Nationals plated another run on a wild pitch to take a 4-0 lead and close out the scoring.

  • Cory Mazzoni pitched the first 1.2 innings, but left with what the team said was triceps soreness in the second inning.
  • Scott Rice allowed 1 hit and struck out 1 in 1 inning.
  • Juan Lagares entered for defense in the eighth inning and made a spectacular diving catch in center field, ranging far to his left and laying out.
