3/23 Game Recap: Mets (SS) Fall to Braves 4-1

Sunday in Disney, a split squad Mets team took on the Braves.

Game Recap:

Carlos Torres, set to open the year in the bullpen, got the start for the Mets and allowed Atlanta to take a 1-0 lead  on an RBI double by Chris Johnson in the bottom of the first.

The Mets tied things at 1 in the top of the fourth on a Kirk Nieuwenhuis RBI grounder.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Braves took the lead back when a Steven Lerud RBI double made it 2-1 Atlanta. The Braves added single runs in the sixth (on a Justin Upton homer) and the seventh (on a Freddie Freeman RBI double) to take a 4-1 lead and close out the scoring,


  • Carlos Torres got the start for the Mets and allowed 2 runs in 4 innings pitched. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, walked none and struck out 4.

Next Up:

The Mets take on the Cardinals Monday afternoon at 1:10 PM. The game will air on SNY.
