Mets manager Terry Collins told reporters that Niese relayed that he was suffering from “dead arm” and that the MRI is for precautionary reasons.

Per Marc Carig, Niese has been dealing with this issue since early in camp.

Anthony DiComo of tweeted that the discomfort Niese is experiencing is in a different location than his partially torn rotator cuff.

Niese rehabbed last season from that partial tear, so it should be a bit of a relief that his current discomfort isn’t in the same area.

As per usual, every Mets fan is flipping out over the Niese MRI news.

However, until results of the MRI come back, no one will know whether this is incredibly minor or incredibly major.

At that point, it will be time to assess what this means in the long run.
