Howie Rose and Josh Lewin Join WOR Booth

By Danny Abriano

It’s been widely assumed for months that Howie Rose would make the move over to WOR radio with the Mets.  Broadcasting partner Josh Lewin’s fate was up in the air – until tonight.

According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, both Rose and Lewin will be making the move from WFAN to WOR.

Rubin said that an official announcement regarding the hires is expected to be made next week, while noting that pregame and postgame duties have to be determined.

There were reports recently that WOR had actually pondered moving on from both Rose and Lewin.

It wouldn’t have been outlandish to move on from the popular but recently added Lewin, but moving on from Rose would’ve been foolish.

Rose is revered by Mets fans, and change for the sake of it on the part of WOR would’ve likely resulted in simply angering the fans.

With the return of both Lewin and Rose to the radio booth, the Mets will continue to have tremendous broadcast teams on both the television and radio side of things.
