This Saturday at noon, the first annual Queens Baseball Convention (QBC) will get underway at McFadden’s at Citi Field.

The event, which was put together by Shannon Shark of Mets Police and Darren Meenan of The 7 Line, was created in part because the Mets retired their own fan fest of sorts (the Winter Caravan) eight years ago.

The QBC will run from noon to 7PM, and there will be tons of attractions and activities that can be enjoyed by Mets fans of all ages.

Mets legends Ron Darling and Ed Kranepool will be there (taking part in Q & A’s and signing autographs for fans), as will Cyclones general manager Steve Cohen.  Mr. Met will also be making an appearance.

Some events that are on tap include the new media panel (with Matthew Cerrone of MetsBlog and many others), the Banner Parade, a Mets history panel with Greg Prince from Faith and Fear in Flushing, a presentation by Mark Simon of ESPN, and a Mets uniform discussion presented by Paul Lukas of UniWatch.

There will also be a social media aspect and a dating game at the QBC.

The dunk tank area will be a place where fans can attempt to dunk some of the more infamous personalities from #MetsTwitter, and fans will have the chance to win a date with one of the calendar girls from The 7 Line during the dating game.

Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.
