The Rising Apple Report returns for its 43rd episode as Sam Maxwell and Michael Lecolant join me for another half hour of Mets talk.

With the 2013 season down to a max of seven games left, they’ll start off discussing the world series and making their picks for who will take home the title – the resurgent Red Sox or the suddenly youthful Cardinals.

There’s also been some good news this week, as Bloomberg appraised the Mets at $2.05 Billion, making them the fourth most-valuable franchise in baseball. It’s unclear whether or not this will impact the offseason, but good news is good news after all.

After that, to continue on a big theme from last week’s show, we’ll continue to discuss the priorities for the Mets’ offsesason. Also, we’ll discuss where the team might be able to improve at a value.

Last but certainly not least, our 1973 series ended earlier this week with the ’73 Mets falling to Oakland in game 7 of the world series. Mike has been integral to our tribute series, and he’ll discuss some of his favorite storylines and what he may have learned looking back at a boyhood team.

The stove isn’t hot yet, but it’s definitely warming up. We’re about a week or two away from the offseason, and the optimism that grows within us as we count down until pitchers and catchers.

So join us again at 6:30!
