Rising Apple’s 2013 MLB Playoff Predictions

Prior to this season, the Rising Apple staff predicted which teams would make the Playoffs, and how the Playoffs would shake out. Of the 9 writers who made predictions, the best results came from Dan Haefeli, who predicted 6 of 10 playoff teams correctly. In a bit of a coincidence, the other 8 writers all picked 5 of 10 playoff teams correctly.
Of the 9 writers who made predictions, 6 are still in line to have potentially picked the World Series winner. Dan Haefeli, despite his prowess at guessing 6 of the playoff teams, picked Toronto to win the World Series. Sam Maxwell and Matt Musico (our former Editor) both picked the Nationals to win the crown.
Now that the 2013 Playoff matchups are set, we’ll take another shot at predicting who will be standing at the top of the mountain when the 2013 Major League season comes to a close. For Andrew Battifarano and Shannon Finkel, the tremendous new writers we’ve added between March and now, this will be their first crack at predicting the outcome of the 2013 Playoffs and World Series.
