The Pirates took an immediate 1-0 lead when Rennie Stennett led off the game with a home run.

The Mets took the lead back in the second.  John Milner led off the inning with a single, and John Milner followed by drilling a home run that gave the Mets a 2-1 advantage.

After the Pirates tied things up in the third, the Mets went right back ahead 3-2 when Felix Millan stroked an RBI single to center field.

The Mets added on in the fifth, going up 4-2 on a George Stone RBI ground out.  The Pirates answered with a run of their own in the sixth to cut the lead to 4-3, but the Mets plated 3 runs in the eighth to go up 7-4 and put the game away.
