Sean Henn Promoted to Mets, Jeurys Familia to PSL For a Bit

According to the Mets, the team has promoted LHP Sean Henn from AAA Las Vegas. Henn, a 32 year old reliever, compiled a 2.81 ERA in 57.2 innings pitched while with Las Vegas. He allowed 60 hits, walked 32, and struck out 49.

With Daisuke Matsuzaka a near disaster every team he takes the mound, Henn is likely being called up to pick up some innings in the event Matsuzaka gets annihilated again and has to exit the game early (again).
Additionally, Jeurys Familia, who has been working his way back from minor elbow surgery, has returned to Port St. Lucie for what Adam Rubin of ESPN New York describes will be a very short period of time. It’s expected that Familia will be assigned to one of the minor league teams who are still in the Playoffs (Savannah, Binghamton or Las Vegas) almost immediately.
There’s still hope that Familia will make it back to the majors before the season concludes on September 29th.
