According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, the Mets plan to call up Vic Black, Zach Lutz, and Tim Byrdak for Sunday’s series finale in Washington.

With rosters expanding, the Mets are free to add up to 15 players.  However, the team (according to Rubin) will likely wait until both AA Binghamton and AAA Las Vegas complete their respective postseason slates before making additional call-ups.

It’s likely that Ruben Tejada will be recalled from Las Vegas at that time, and Binghamton closer Jeff Walters is another player who may get a chance with the Mets.

Byrdak, who underwent the same shoulder surgery that Johan Santana had, will join the Mets after toiling in the minors while rehabbing his injury.

Lutz should get some playing time now that Ike Davis (strained oblique) has almost certainly played his last game of the season.

Black, who the Mets acquired as part of the deal that sent Marlon Byrd and John Buck to the Pirates, will join the bullpen and should get some looks in high leverage situations.
