2013 MLB Season Preview: Postseason Award Predictions

Welcome to the last installment of Rising Apple’s 2013 MLB season preview series! You’ve seen us break down each division throughout the National and American Leagues, predict the Mets’ final record and 25-man roster, and we each chose a World Series winner. To catch up with this series, you can see it all right here. Now, let me tell you who wins the vote for each league’s MVP, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year, and Manager of the Year. Then, I’ll I’ll break it down by writer, so you can see how we made the following decisions.

So, there you have it; our 2013 MLB season preview series is complete. That leaves just one thing left… for the regular season to actually start! Obviously, we’re all aware the Mets won’t get 2013 officially underway until Monday at 1:10p against the San Diego Padres, but enjoy having Sunday Night Baseball back after you’re done celebrating Easter with your loved ones. The Texas Rangers will take on the Houston Astros Sunday night at 8:05pm, as the ‘Stros play their first game as a member of the American League. It’s a happy day when Pitchers and Catchers report to Spring Training, but it’s just a tease before the first full day of regular season games. Every Opening Day feels like I’m born again; the void that was there all winter will now be gone, just in time for the summer sun.
