This is the 3rd Part of a 4-part series documenting a Q&A with Summers at Shea author Ira Berkow. For the 1st part, click here, and for the 2nd part, click here.

On Thursday, March 14, I traveled down to Jay Goldberg’s Bergino Baseball Clubhouse on 11th Street off of Broadway in Manhattan. If you have never been down to heaven on 11th Street, I’ve written about it here and here.

The Clubhouse had a very special guest on this evening. Ira Berkow, the Pulitzer-Prize winning New York Times Columnist whose books include Rockin’ Steady: A Guide to Basketball and Cool and The Gospel According to Caseyhas recently released Summers at Shea: Tom Seaver Loses his Overcoat and Other Mets Stories.

With the 40th Anniversary of the 1973 New York Mets on its way, our host, Jay Goldberg, asks Ira about the team, and he responds with some fantastic stories on our favorite Lawrence Peter, Mr. Yogi Berra.
