• According to Jon Heyman, the Mets “appear to have interest” in recently released Tigers outfielder Brennan Boesch.  Our take on why signing Boesch would be a bad idea is right here.

• Daniel Murphy (strained intercostal) is scheduled to take batting practice, run the bases, and take grounders today in Port St. Lucie.

• Per the beat writers, Jordany Valdespin (who was drilled in the groin by a Justin Verlander fastball on Monday) plans to start wearing a cup.  Wise choice.

• The Mets travel to Viera this afternoon to take on the Nationals at 1:05 PM.  The game isn’t on local television or radio, but can be followed via MLB Gameday.  Here’s the Mets’ lineup:
