It was a quiet end to a week in which the Mets made no major moves, but certainly talked to plenty of teams about their needs and wants in forming their roster heading into 2013. All of today’s updates are below. To catch up on all the Mets related rumors and news from this past week in Nashville follow the links for Monday, Tuesday (Part 1 and 2), and Wednesday.

3:55 PM: The Mets and Blue Jays met both Monday and yesterday to discuss trades, but didn’t get anywhere, yet. New York likes Travis d’Arnaud (who wouldn’t), but Toronto is more apt to trade away J.P. Arencibia.

2:39 PM: MLB Trade Rumors reports the Braves have agreed to a one-year deal with outfielder Reed Johnson. MLBTR noted Johnson has particularly hit left-handed pitchers well over the last three seasons, posting a .306/.339/.457 line. Would have been a great fourth outfielder option for New York.

12:50 PM: It was revealed on MetsBlog the Royals had more interest in Jonathon Niese this week than R.A. Dickey, and asked for both Niese and Zack Wheeler in a trade for outfield prospect Wil Myers.

12:47 PM: Ruben Amaro, Jr.’s search for a player to patrol center fieldat Citizens Bank Park is complete, as they’ve agreed to send Vance Worley and pitching prospect Trevor May to the Minnesota Twins in exchange for Ben Revere.

12:45 PM: Andy Martino said Alderson had talks with both the Yankees and Nationals regarding R.A. Dickey, but neither team was a good fit for a trade.

11:46 AM: Sandy Alderson had virtually no trade talks regarding Jonathon Niese, and they also made little progress toward finding a catcher to compliment Josh Thole, reports MetsBlog.

11:45 AM: Here is the latest update on the potential trade that could include Justin Upton and Asdrubal Cabrera changing jerseys for 2013.

11:44 AM: Adam Rubin recaps the week that was for the Mets in Nashville at the Winter Meetings.

10:25 AM: The Mets selected southpaw Kyle Lobstein from the Rays Triple-A roster. Jonathon Mayo of MLB.com made an interesting tweet, as he said New York might flip the starter to the Tigers, which they have, for some cash.

8:37 AM: It’s looking more likely the Rockies will have to make a trade or two in order to acquire the starting pitching help they’re desperately in search of. Teams have been calling Colorado about Dexter Fowler, but also Michael Cuddyer.

8:34 AM: Philadelphia’s pursuit of Michael Young has gotten more serious, as word is getting around the long-time Ranger is willing to waive his no-trade clause to facilitate a trade to the Phillies.

7:16 AM: Andy Martino reports the Mets are sitting on one “acceptable” offer for R.A. Dickey, but Alderson’s preference at this time is to hold onto the Cy Young winner instead. If Dickey does get dealt, Adam Rubin wrote that a Mets official could see Jenrry Mejia start the year in the rotation.

The Royals are willing to trade outfield prospect Wil Myers if it meant acquiring a pitcher like James Shields.

7:15 AM: Scott Miller of CBS tweets there is a growing feeling Zack Greinke will be signing with the Rangers.

7:13 AM: The Phillies have been engaged in talks with the Rangers about acquiring Michael Young, while they’re also discussing five possible center field solutions, both in the free agent and trade markets.

7:11 AM:We enter the final day of the 2012 Winter Meetings in Nashville, Tenessee, and there are plenty of deals still left on the table.
