Luckily for the Mets, the Marlins did all of their minimal damage in the first inning. Chris Capuano held the Marlins offense to seven hits, two earned-runs, and two walks over five innings. The ‘pen combined for four innings of scoreless, two-hit ball, with Bobby Parnell notching his third save of the season.

The Mets bats provided plenty of hits (nine)–including four extra-base hits–but were only able to bring three runners home (3-for-13 with runners in scoring position). The oft-slumping Jason Bay led the charge with three hits, featuring his twelve double. David Wright chipped-in two doubles of his own, and Jose Reyes enjoyed a multi-hit game.

The win bumps the Mets up to 65-69.
